SRT Maintenance Scheduled - Internet Affecting

SRT to Upgrade Internet Equipment Hardware

SRT is constantly working to provide you with the best Internet service available. As a result, it is necessary to upgrade core components of our network equipment every so often. On Thursday, July 6th at 2:00 AM, SRT has scheduled planned maintenance to upgrade our core Internet router that connects SRT customers to the global Internet. This maintenance is scheduled for one hour. This portion of the equipment upgrade is step one in a three part process, with the following two steps taking place at a later date.

This scheduled maintenance will result in all Internet services being temporarily interrupted while the core router is upgraded. All Internet browsing, gaming, email, remote VPN, cloud services, voice over IP, web hosting, security systems, and payment processing systems will be affected. SRT understands our customers value their Internet service and it is critical to some business services. The maintenance window provides an opportunity for SRT to upgrade key equipment with the lowest impact to our member owners.

This portion of the maintenance includes updating software and upgrading hardware in our core router to add security to our Internet service. The purpose of this upgrade will mitigate Distributed Denial of Service attacks and prevent those attacks from affecting SRT customers’ Internet.

As always, if you are experiencing any Internet difficulties following the planned maintenance, please reboot your modem/router by power cycling it for 30 seconds. If issues persist, please contact our Internet help desk at 701-858-7873.
