SRT Customer Service Rep. Receives Minot Chamber EDC Eagle Award

2022_company_eagleawardWE_news

SRT Customer Service Representative Wesley Elkins received Minot Chamber EDC‘s Eagle Award this month. The Eagle Award recognizes excellence in customer service and the recipients must be nominated to receive this award.

Wesley was nominated by a new SRT customer who said, “I am not one to leave reviews good or bad but after dealing with Wesley Elkins that has changed. I have been with a different ISP for 10 years and after struggling with slow internet speeds, dropped connections, etc., it was time for a change. I was dreading the change due to different circumstances […] I had voiced my concerns with Wesley (who was extremely friendly and definitely loves what she does) and she put my mind at ease. I thought about it for the night and called back the next day to get switched. I was hoping to get Wesley but got someone else who got me signed up and scheduled. I would not have done this without the reassurance from Wesley Elkins.”

Congratulations Wesley and thank you for taking great care of our customers!

How to Enable Automatic Updates for Your Apps

Download Graphics to View As with operating systems, it’s important to set your apps to update automatically because developers release security patches when issues crop up, and you’ll want to have that protection. Here’s how to set automatic updates through the official app store for your device:

Microsoft Store: Open the Microsoft Store app and click the three-dot icon in the top-right corner. Then select “Settings” and make sure the toggle for Update apps automatically is enabled.

Mac App Store: You can make sure your apps update by opening System Preferences > Software Update and clicking the “Advanced” button. Here you’ll see an option for “Install app updates” from the App Store.

Google Play: Open the Google Play Store app and then tap Menu > Settings > Auto-update apps.

iOS App Store: Open Settings > App Store and enable App Updates.

If you have other connected devices — such as security cameras, video game systems, smartwatches, doorbells, and locks — also set them to update automatically.

STAY ALERT

Watch Out For Charity Scams Scammers have sunk to a new low to make money — exploiting the shortage of baby formula and desperation of parents and caregivers.

These criminals may make fake websites or profiles on social media using the product images and logos of household-name formula brands to deceive people into paying steep prices for formula that never arrives.

Don’t get swept up in “formula frenzy.” Before you order from an unfamiliar online store, follow this advice to help avoid a scam:
  • Do your research. Check out the company or product by typing its name in a search engine with terms like “review,” “complaint,” or “scam.” See what other people say about it.

  • Consider how you pay. Credit cards often give you the strongest protections, and you can sometimes get your money back if you ordered something but didn’t get it.

  • Know your rights. When you shop online, sellers are supposed to ship your order within the time stated in their ads, or within 30 days if the ads don’t give a time. If a seller can’t ship within the promised time, it has to give you a revised shipping date, with the chance to either cancel your order for a full refund or accept the new shipping date.
If you suspect a scam, you can report it at ReportFraud.ftc.gov. These reports help the FTC and its law enforcement partners stop scammers.
